Did you know there is a wealth of public-funded business support available for ambitious Lancashire businesses? And, that it is delivered by equally ambitious and professional support professionals?

Support services range from access to growth finance, getting advice on energy efficiency and receiving mentoring. Masterclasses in leadership, financial management, sales and marketing are also available.

This support is delivered via Boost – Lancashire’s business growth hub. Boost helps Lancashire businesses from start-ups to large companies get access to support.

From manufacturing to marketing, from pet care products to pie making, since its inception in July 2013, Boost has helped more than 5,000 businesses across the county to grow.

Young firms and start-ups like Pie Mezzanae have greatly benefited from this support. Boost’s Growth Support Programme masterclasses helped Zainab Bilal prepare a three-year growth plan. Zainab, the pioneer behind the Pie Heroes brand, has already started to deliver.

She has moved from a home-based business to new premises and is getting help to apply for growth funding.

Zainab said: “The Boost workshops and advice has been brilliant. Preparing a strategic plan changes your perspective and thinking. It makes you explore your ideas and tap into other areas you may not have considered.”

Boost also supports established business too. Service Alliance, a Burnley-based facilities management provider used Boost’s Growth Mentoring programme to gain the insight of a specialist marketing mentor. This has helped the firm to grow their revenue by over £100,000, creating 12 new jobs. Key staff from Service Alliance also attended funded digital marketing masterclasses organised through Boost.

Simon Hook, operations director at Service Alliance said: “Advice and guidance in marketing has helped Service Alliance in many areas, bringing in great ideas that have been put into practice, including new brochures and pop up banners.”

Boost’s newly launched Boost Bespoke also offers tailored support packages for established businesses.

The support includes help to access new regional, national and international markets; to understand the best financial options for growth and to help established businesses develop their range of products and services.

Specialist support delivered through Boost Bespoke also focuses on developing and building effective teams and boosting productivity and minimising waste.

Launched in January, Boost’s current programme aims to support an additional 1,450 businesses in the county, creating over 1,350 new jobs as well as helping to establish a further 200 business start-ups in the region.

Taking advantage of this support couldn’t be simpler, just contact Boost. A Boost advisor will then arrange an appointment with you to learn more about your business needs and create a support plan specifically tailored to your business.
